Therapy Techniques
Brainspotting is a tool that supports the healing relationship between the therapist and the client. Brainspots are identified by the client or therapist by the involuntary reactions when the eyes gaze at certain spots. These Brainspots correlate with specific traumatic events. By utilizing the Brainspots, we can unlock the sensory, affective, cognitive, and somatic trauma which are stored in specific areas of the brain and body. Brainspots are used to access specific aspects of trauma which allows focused and contained processing, less in between-session distress, and more sense of control for the client. I have seen true miracles in using Brainspotting as an adjunct to my therapy work.
